Amplive

Amplive is a new name to me but ive instantly grown fond of his style, especialy the electro-acoustic hip hop vibe from his recent Radiohead remixes. In my opinion, two of the best tracks on his new release are featuring some of my favorite names in hip hop such as Chali 2na & Deltron! Sweet deal i hear you say? Definately is as Radiohead made him release the whole thing for free due to his lack of permision to play with the tracks.

The whole remix EP can be downloaded from here -

TOP 5 TUNES THIS MONTH ! ....OLD & NEW !!!

TOP 5 TUNES !

This months tune are some of the tunes i have been listening to when I'm out n about or just chilling at home. A mash up of hip hop , electronica and dubstep that i wouldn't normally play with Ste in our ATOMBRAIN! sets. these tunes are in NO ORDER as that would be impossible to do as they are all ace.

so here they are ! ..... enjoy !

Lam :)

Aphex Twin - Window Licker (Diplo Version)

top tune by aphex twin remixed lightly by one of the top dogs in electro right now. nuff said :)

Evil Nine feat Aesop rock - crooked

Taken from there first album "you can be special to" . Epic in so many ways.

The Streets - Blinded By The Lights (Nero Remix)

fat dubstep remix of a mike skinner classic .

Flying Lotus - Breathe . Something stellar star

Taken from the globe smashing album "L.A" this guy is pure genius. check out his essential mix or any of his remixes floating round the blogs.

Rusko - Sound Guy Is My Target

Rusko finally releases this feel good summer dub reggae tune along with timeless classic JEHOVAH .

B B B B B B BONKERS !

BRAP BRAP !

if you haven't heard this tune then you have probably been living in the woods with cotton bubs in your ears .... love him or hate him dizzee rascal seems to be on top form at the moment and this summer anthem collaboration with house party legend ARMAND VAN HELDEN is by far the best that we (bushido!) have heard so far this summer.

this remix is brought to you by wax:on / ibiza rocks resident DOORLY. After seeing doorly first hand warming up for evil nine , benga and karfty kuts a few months back at wax:on in Sheffield, i was truly amazed by this guys skills on the decks.... using 3 decks at once and creating live bootlegs over tunes from FAKE BLOOD , JUSTCICE , FOAMO and many more.

His production skills off the decks are of the highest quality and this remix is one of the best hes done.

more new dub !!

CHEEKY DUB VERSION OF A MODERN CLASSIC!

This is the first Marchmellow tune I've heard , he has released a few tunes which are floating round the Internet but in my eyes this is his best remix. there is not alot of information on this guy , but we will do our best to keep u informed about about future productions.

peter Bjorn and john - young folks (marchmellow dub remix)

Squire of Gothos & a couple of other Squires

Squire of Gothos hail from Sheffield. One of our faaaavorite places in the world. It really is an incredible place with an incredible music scene, full of generaly all round awesome dudes. So we've got some truuuuly naughty basslines for all of your party banger needs from SoG

And here's some bonus material for you from todays searches! Bonus!

Italian tag team Lazy Ants have just caught my attention with their remix of 3 Is A Crowd - What is a DJ. All killer and not much filler in this one! Same as the above, lots of bass moulded around absolute party bangers.

Next tune is in the shape of a remix by ever favortite Mumdance & ever bad boi Hi Rankin. A nice blend of gritty noise & electro beeps n swoosh, but cutting up between standard 130bmp-ish beats into some nice half time drops. We love mumdance, he one crazy sonofabitch.

RESO @ BUSHIDO !!!

RESO @ BUSHIDO MIDDLESBROUGH !!!!

We are very proud to announce RESO for our dubstep special on the 24th of july . If you havnt heard of reso before then check out this sick tune ! ... voted no 1 on beatports dubstep chart for nearly a whole month "IF YOU CANT BEAT EM " is one of the most heavy dubstep track I've heard this year.

RESO - if you cant beat em

DATSIK

CANADA'S ANSWER TO RUSKO ....

20 year old Canadian dubstep whizz kid DATSIK has been making bass heavy dubstep for about a year. already receiving play from the like of BAR9 , STENCHMAN , RUSKO , COKI. He is tipped to be one of the hottest dub producers of 2009 and i personally agree. I cant get enough of this tune at the moment....

Datsik - gizmo

RE-RUB THAT DUB !

Mad Decents very own L-VIS 1990 ! A new producer who has turned his talent to remixing some of my fav dubstep tunes. check out these !!!

JAKES AND JOKER - 3KLANE (L-VIS 1990 DOUBLE STEP EDIT)

Buraka Som Sistema - IC19 (L-Vis 1990 Remix)

Benga - '26 Basslines (L-Vis 1990 Dubble Step Edit)
A CHANGE IN DIRECTION ?

switch (Dave taylor) , owner and founder of DUBSIDED takes a go at a bjork classic but changes his musical direction by going dubstep. Alot of djs in the fidget division have been creating dubstep tunes over the past six months such as HERVE , DOORLY & FOAMO, but all have gone for that more electro filled dubstep. This stuff is good, i play some of this kind of dub in atombrain towards the end of our sets. Switch has given this tune a more of a dub reggae feel to it BUT kept it with a naughty switch style melody. i really like this song but then im a massive switch fan. .... check it out for your self anyway !

ZOMBIE NATION !

We here at Bushido! love evil nine. fact not fiction!

This is actually one of my least fav tracks off their album "They Live", but this an Evil Nine remix of their own song, and like there live performances and dj sets this is a pure treat for the ears. This is dirty, creepy and bleepy all in one, textbook electro in my eyes. If u ever get the chance to see these guys live as a band or as djs then do it. Mint :)

lam x

evil nine - Icicles (Evil Nines Graveyard Smash)

Wobble n tha'

Here's two fella's that have been getting a lot of play time recently at the Bushido! camp.

First to lube up your eardrums is Calvertron who has managed to pull out a pretty uplifting effort and really put his mark on his remix of Friendly Fires - Jump in the pool. Wobbly bass, as always, with some tasty synth thrown in for good measure holds the song together well with a real feelgood vibe.

If i could rename this track it definalty wind up as "Dr Goodtimes"

Friendly Fires - Jump In The Pool (Cavertron Remix)

Chaka Khan - Feel For You (Calvertron Remix)

HOSTAGE

We'd love Hostage to come live at our house, we'd even let him drink buckfast if he wanted to. Imagine the parties you could have while cooking up breakfast whith tunes like these going on. Im not sure if id want La Roux to be there though, i bet she looks rough in the morning, and not in a grizzly beard drunken best mate kind of way

Hostage - Soundboy

La Roux - In for the kill (Hostage Remix)

Lets Get Down To Business

So obviously, this blog is connected to our promotions group President Evil, and so it was also obvious that some of the content on here was going to be about our nights! So here's the first!

Its going down at Platinum Bar on linthorpe road, which is a newly refurbished and largely undiscovered venue, with a kick ass new soundsystem and bar, so it was down to us to put un undiscovered live acts, and kick ass dj's who dont tend to make many appearances down our way.

Im even boring myself with all the promotey banter now, lets get to the tunes!

First up on the evening will be our boy KID FREAKOUT, formerly of the duo Troniks, Kid Freakouts productions have come on in leaps and bounds, & takes on the greats with his projects, remixing the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Digitalism, MSTRKRFT, Ladyhawke & now Disco Villains -

Disco Villains - Cali Love (Kid Freakout Remix)

Also, being the nice fella that he is, he sent us this over -

Kid Freakout January Mix

I got sent this little gem just the other day and the vocal lines have been glazed on my brain ever since. Not quite what id have expected from Crookers, but thats definately not a bad thing, infact its quite a refreshing to get something like this after il brutto & love to edit.

Smooth Vocal Sampling, really subtle basslines, melodic synth action and some weird precussion going on makes this track far from a party banger, but ideal for some coffee and interwebbing time!

Miike Snow - Animal (Crookers Remix)

THIS IS THE DAWNING OF THE AGE OF AQUARIUS!

Welcome one and all!

Firstly I'd like to use this time to introduce the key players in this blog before we start the ball rolling with new tracks, free give-aways & information on club nights and so on.

Mr Reginald Lambstein, more commonly known as lam, is one half of DJ Duo, Atom Brain, and one half of the promotions company
, President Evil, who, as of friday 13th febuary will be bringing you Middlesbroughs new clubnight, BUSHIDO!

Stone Cold Steve Jones
, myself, is the other half of the above enterprises, which is erm, two halfs? a hole? that cant be right, anyway, its 11am, nothing is supposed to make sense in that limbo between breakfast and lunch apart from Jeremy Kyle and so on.

We're both very much looking forward to seeing where we can take this blog, what future events of ours we can feature & what music we can get to your ears, as well as keeping you informed on other blogs! All very exciting at the moment, and with myspace and facebook being like ghost towns nowadays, blogs have always been the more exciting, informal and fun way to provide people with E-Goodies.
